Whatcom Tech Prep Consortium Scholarship: Watch for 2010 deadline
The Whatcom Tech Prep Consortium will award one $500 scholarship to a student from any Whatcom County High School.  The scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to a high school senior planning to pursue postsecondary education/training at a either Whatcom Community College or Bellingham Technical College (2010-2011). Applicants must provide evidence of participation in Tech Prep programs and a commitment to excellence in professional-technical education.
Information Technology Scholarship: Watch for 2010 deadline
The Whatcom Tech Prep Consortium in partnership with the WSA/Technology Alliance Group of Whatcom County is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who plans to major in an information technology-related program at Whatcom Community College or Bellingham Technical College next school year. 2008 TECH PREP Awards Scholarships
Through funding partnerships with area business and industry organizations, each year the Whatcom Tech Prep Consortium is able to provide scholarship opportunities to local students planning to continue their professional technical education at either Bellingham Technical College or Whatcom Community College.  Scholarships for 2008 were awarded to the following students:

Photo of William ManaganWilliam Managan, Mt. Baker High School received a $1,000 scholarship from the Construction Careers Academy program. Bill is a graduate of Whatcom Tech Prep Consortium's CCA program and is will be attending WSU this fall, majoring in Construction Management. Bill earned 17 college credits through the CCA program and completed his internship with Granite Northwest/Wilder.

Photo of Marshall McBrideMarshall McBride, Meridian High School received a $250 Work Experience Award from the Associated General Contractors – Northern District.  Marshall is a graduate of Whatcom Tech Prep Consortium’s CCA program and was hired for full-time employment with Western Refinery Services (WRS) working at ConocoPhillips Ferndale Refinery.  Marshall earned 13 college credits and completed his CCA 12 week internship with WRS and proved to be a valuable employee!



Photo of Jared AshJared Ash, Mt. Baker High School,received a $500 Information Technology scholarship funded by the local Technology Alliance Group (TAG). Jared earned 14 college credits through the Tech Prep program and will be completing his second year in the Computer Network Technology at BTC.
